{"id":1756,"date":"2016-08-07T09:21:47","date_gmt":"2016-08-07T13:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/?p=1756"},"modified":"2016-08-07T09:21:57","modified_gmt":"2016-08-07T13:21:57","slug":"baggage-area-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/?p=1756","title":{"rendered":"Baggage Area (3)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a week traveling overseas on business followed by a week at AirVenture 2016, I finally got back to the actual building process.\u00a0 During the off period I had ordered #2 Tefzel wire for three battery cables running from behind the baggage area to the firewall.\u00a0 Two were for hot leads for the dual battery, dual alternator configuration I am building and one for a solid ground lead.\u00a0 My concern before final riveting the left seat and baggage floors was being unable to pull the heavy\/stiff wire through the already installed black plastic conduit (see previous posts on these).\u00a0 So after receiving the wire, a test pull was in order.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6838.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-arUiqwt0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1752 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6838-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"IMGP6838\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6838-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6838-200x200.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>A cheap ($20) wire grip was purchased from Amazon for this test. Though inexpensive, this one has an end swivel to help guide the head assembly through the conduit.\u00a0 This picture shows beginning to thread the wire mesh from the grip onto the #2 Tefzel wire. Eventually about 2&#8243; overlap was achieved.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6840.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-arUiqwt0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1753 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6840-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"IMGP6840\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6840-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6840-200x200.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>No pictures are available from the test pull, but the Tefzel went through the conduit with no problems. Now having peace of mind about cable runs, I proceeded to use a pneumatic puller to set the rear floor and baggage compartment. Here all the central pop rivets are in place.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6841.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-arUiqwt0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1754 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6841-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"IMGP6841\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6841-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMGP6841-200x200.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>This view show all the edge rivets and nut plates squeezed along the main tunnel.\u00a0 The baggage frames and support angles are clecoed in place ready for Eric&#8217;s availability to drive while I buck.
