Lines and Misc (1)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After many moons of working on body, panel and fiberglass parts, I can now start installation of mechanical components.\u00a0 First up are the firewall insulation and brake line fabrication.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMGP9096.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-ysEOCu72\" data-rl_title=\"\" (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>As usual the brake parts are laid out prior to installation.\u00a0 Here the standard Matco brake cylinders which come with the Vans kit are supplemented with 3\/8&#8243; ID springs and Climax C-037-A aluminum set screw collars.\u00a0 The springs assist with brake pedal rebound and provide better control during braking.\u00a0 Since the spring tension is adjustable via the collar, the final alignment can be fixed per desire after some braking tests.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMGP9101.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-ysEOCu72\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" plate from the AirWard kit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMGP9099.jpg\" were measured and cut.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMGP9109.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-ysEOCu72\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2925 size-thumbnail\" (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Hard 1\/4&#8243; aluminum tubing was selected for the brake line material.\u00a0 Coat hangers were bent into templates for the under-seat hard lines.\u00a0 Then the tubes were bent to fit.\u00a0 Here are the first two examples prior to flanging.\u00a0 The next steps will be the tunnel lines and connection to the parking brake valves.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GLARE SHIELD<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMGP9081.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-ysEOCu72\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2912 size-thumbnail\" (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>The grab handles on the quick-build glare shield are very flimsy.\u00a0 Since those holds are intended for passenger entry\/egress, I feel some reinforcement is necessary.\u00a0 Here the holes are measured and cut in a spare piece of fiberglass to add stiffness.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMGP9087.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-ysEOCu72\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2914 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMGP9087-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" material for anti-glare purposes.\u00a0 Most likely this material will be grey trunk liner &#8211; thin, strong, and non-reflective.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>INTERIOR PAINT<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMGP9088.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-ysEOCu72\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img drops on some flat areas from the previous work.\u00a0 I wound up sweating at the end of the original paint session due to the high outside temperature.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rv10.mirimar.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMGP9093.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-ysEOCu72\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" original paint session.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CABLE RUNS \/ BATTERY PLATFORM<\/p>\n<p><a length was performed.\u00a0 Also done was the rivet installation of the secondary battery platform support
